Move over New York, we all know Las Vegas is the true city that never sleeps.

But – if you’d like a break from the Sin City scene, we have a tip: You can make a decent side-hustle by participating in focus groups. Yes, companies will actually pay you to sit around and talk about their products, services, or industry.

Sounds great, but don’t know where to start? No worries, I listed the top paid focus groups in Las Vegas to get you started in this article. Let’s get you some extra cash!

Studies you can participate in

It’s no secret that Vegas is a mega tourist trap. Most major industries live here: gaming, travel, business, retail and restaurants… and of course hospitality. In fact, Vegas is home to 15 of the world’s top 25 hotels. Here are a few other major companies that call Vegas home:

  • Zappos
  • Wynn Resorts
  • J.S. Products, Inc
  • Scientific Games Corporation
  • MGM Resorts International

Looking at companies headquartered around your city is a good hint of market research prospects. Since Vegas is such a hospitality-heavy city, there’s not a ton of product-based businesses (people tend to spend their money on other things…), but there’s still enough heavy hitters that need your opinion. Keep reading to find them!

Top 5 Market Research Companies in Las Vegas

Without further ado, here are our top 5 companies for focus groups in Vegas! I sweat over this list like I was in the hot desert sun. I don’t know how you guys do the heat, but if you want to know how we do the ranking, click here!

1. Consumer Opinion Services, Inc.:
Our first choice for paid focus groups in Las Vegas has rave reviews across the board. They earned 5 stars across Google, Facebook… even Yelp (extra points – they’re hard to please over there)!

Past participants really enjoy their customer service, which shines through on their social media pages as well.

Current studies are focused on products and services. Payout offers include cash, coupons, and gifts. We couldn’t find the criteria for which method they chose, but typically cash honorariums range from $50-125.

For parents – good news! They offer studies for and about children, so be sure to list them on your profile. It’s a fun way for kids to get involved and earn some of their own money instead of asking for yours 😉

They are transparent and following COVID guidelines which you can read about here

Fill out a pretty extensive demographic survey to get contacted about studies.

2. Las Vegas Field and Focus, LLC:
Right on their home page: “Nevada’s Most Top Rated Facility by the Impulse Survey, ever.”

Alright, way to start off with a bang. Luckily, they seem to back it up with over 4 stars on Google and Yelp (again, pretty impressive!)

We couldn’t stalk – I mean search them on Facebook since they’re not active, but we found that participants most enjoy their friendly service, refreshments, and cash payouts.

Study topics include household goods, toys, medication, music choice, etc. It seems they have a little bit of everything!

They are located in a business center off of Flamingo & Eastern Ave across from Desert Springs Hospital.

Fill out their survey to get matched with relevant studies.

3. Paramount Focus Groups – Las Vegas:
This is a smaller market research firm, but they have pretty great reviews out of the few that rated them on Google and Facebook. They frequently post studies on their Facebook page.

They don’t offer much information on their website, but from their current studies and reviews, we’d say this is a pretty solid pick.

Paramount also has a relatively detailed survey to complete for registration.

4. MindSpeak Focus Groups:
It’s rare that a market research company has no social presence at all, but we go by the phrase never say never for a reason over here.

Still, they rank on our list because they offer a whopping $75 per completed survey, which is pretty great. It’s not the highest we’ve seen, but it’s their set standard, which is noteworthy.

The sessions are 4 hours, which is a significant commitment, but it works out to a decent hourly rate. MindSpeak’s clients are attorneys, so if you’re interested in the law this is a good choice for you.

5. CBS Television City:
For the more spontaneous and lively crowd, check out CBS Television City to give your feedback about new TV shows!

They don’t always pay (sometimes your reward is a gift or voucher) but it’s a uniquely Vegas experience that we didn’t want to leave out. It’s a more touristy thing to do, but if you’re new to the focus group scene it can be a fun entry point.

Plus, since it’s primarily walk-in, it’s a great family/friend night on the town. They qualify you on the spot, so just be prepared for a back-up plan.

Visit them (in-person) inside the MGM Grand to participate!
