Rare Patient Voice is a US-based medical market research company. They were established in 2013 and claim to have paid over $8 million as compensation for research participants.
Although their name may suggest that their main focus is those with rare diseases, they sometimes have options for non-rare illnesses too.
They also have research options for caregivers and other people in the medical field.
Essentially, they partner with pharmaceutical companies and researchers to source qualified respondents based on specific criteria.
Rare Patient Voice Reviews: Is Rare Patient Voice Legit?
Rare Patient Voice has all the qualifications to be called a legitimate company. Their website is in good order, and they have video testimonials from previous research participants.
To top it off, they’re also accredited by the Better Business Bureau and European Pharmaceutical Market Research Association (EPHMRA).
However, there were several negative feedback about their payment systems. Some even claim they’re a scam because of how difficult it is to get qualified for a study, even with very detailed pre-study surveys.

He pointed out how much they’ve already paid their participants and how they’d quickly settle any payment mistakes.
In a Facebook comment, Rare Patient Voice also explained how some of your background information disqualifies you from several studies.
For example, people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) can’t be interviewed for an MS study if they worked as a nurse before.
That is because some studies need a patient below a certain level of expertise on the subject matter.

Most of the reviews I found on their Facebook page were positive. Here’s one of them:
“I’ve had excellent interactions with the staff. The surveys are usually somewhat fun and feel like you’re actually helping someone or developing something new. They’ve always followed through on payment and I appreciate all the opportunities.”
However, businesses are very rarely perfect, and there’s bound to be some misunderstandings with some clients.
Here’s one negative feedback about them:
“I did 3 surveys for them starting back in may. I today had recieved my first payment for doing the first survey. it was suppose to be for 50.00 and when I opened the first check up it was only for 35.00.
I logged into my account and it took away 50. of the 105 total for completing surveys but only got 35. I dont feel like this is acceptable. I dont understand how this is ok to do to people.”

If you answer as the caregiver, they’ll ask you questions about your patient, such as their medical condition, its severity, and the year it was diagnosed.
Step 2: Check Your Emails Regularly
Rare Patient Voice is unique among market research companies in that they’re the ones that pick the studies based on your profile.
After signing up, simply wait for market research opportunities they’ll send through their newsletters.
They do this by categorizing your account by your or your patient’s medical condition and other pre-screening qualifications for the study.
Step 3 (Optional): Ask Them Directly for Opportunities
Something that sets Rare Patient Voice apart from its competition is how they always encourage people to email them for questions.
If you think it’s taking them too long to find you an available study, you can email and ask them directly.
They also have a list of ongoing studies on their website, so you can generally check for yourself if there’s something that can fit your profile.
How to Earn Money with Rare Patient Voice
There are two ways to earn money with Rare Patient Voice.
The first is through participating in studies which can give you $100 per hour.
However, note that you still have to qualify to pass an unpaid pre-screening interview or survey before the actual study participation.
The second way is through their referral program. This method allows you to earn $10 per signup using your unique referral link.
The bonus? Your referrals don’t have to qualify for any studies before you get your compensation.
Typically, they pay through check, but they use gift cards for smaller amounts.
