If you don’t have plans for next Saturday, why not take part in research and get paid? Don’t know where? How about Take Part in Research?

Yes, I was confused at the start, too. I was simply looking for studies to participate in, and suddenly a website called Take Part in Research grabbed my attention.

I was intrigued. Nothing left to do but grab my magnifying glass, see this website up close and determine if it deserves to be part of StansGigs’s pool of legit paid survey sites.

The Rating

3.5/5

A highly-rated survey aggregator with tons of studies available to its members. Most of them are specifically for UK residents, but you can still apply for online studies that accept users from other parts of the world.

What is Take Part in Research?

If you have queries, you can visit their main office at 50 Grand Parade, Brighton, East Sussex, England.

On the other hand, you can also call them at 01273-681-074, email them at takepart@takepartinresearch.co.uk, or visit their website.

Is Take Part in Research Legit?

I’m a big fan of simple, user-friendly, yet sophisticated and professional-looking websites, so Take Part in Research easily earns plus points for me.

The homepage is straightforward, with a brief introduction about what you can achieve from the website and a Sign-Up button for newcomers.

Scrolling down takes me to the list of all the available research studies I can participate in.

Even further down highlights all the possible ways of earning money from them and the most common topics of their studies.

As part of my protocol for determining a survey website’s legitimacy, I searched for Take Part in Research reviews online.

Here’s what I found on Trustpilot.

“Really enjoyed having a meeting with others involved. Fun with respect at all times. Would recommend as your given a chance to give your opinion on matters that affect others.” (MR PRICE)

I also checked their Google Business page to see what others say about the service.

“My go to website for doing market research. From my experience, there is always a huge choice of projects to apply for and having been doing projects with Take Part for the past couple of years I’ve been able to participate in fun research projects.” (Sophie Winter)

However, I have to mention that despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews and ratings from Google (4.3 stars) and Trustpilot (4.4 stars), there are a few negative comments about the payment.

Some Google reviews and comments on Reddit threads say it takes at least 30 days to receive payments for the studies.

Several reviews also say that you might have to take dozens of pre-surveys before you qualify for one.

Nonetheless, I still believe Take Part in Research is a legit company. After all, they still send out payments for participation, albeit a bit late.

It just so happens that the screening process in a handful of their paid studies can be quite rigorous.

I also have to give them the benefit of the doubt because they’re a UK-based survey hub, which means some of the studies may only be available for UK citizens.

Aside from your name, gender, and birth year, the form will ask for the “Nearest major city/town to your location.”

This question is mainly for interested applicants who wish to participate in in-person focus groups, interviews, or group discussions.

The locations from the dropdown list include major cities in Ireland, Scotland, and England, so if these are places far from your location, choose “Local Research Only.”

How to Earn Money with Take Part in Research

Take Part in Research offers the following methods to earn from paid studies:

  • Group Discussion
  • In-person Interviews
  • Telephone Interviews
  • Product Testing
  • Focus Groups
  • Online Surveys

Based on the current projects on their website, the minimum pay per survey is around £5. However, I saw a lot of research opportunities that pay £50 to £500.

Then again, qualifying for these studies is another story. Judging from personal experience, some studies from the website are not as hard to get into.

They invited me to participate in a market research study just a few days after signing up on the website.

The opportunity pays £5 to £10 per month but includes a £20 sign-up bonus and a monthly prize draw worth £250.

Other Alternatives

Here are some alternatives if Take Part in Research is not your cup of tea.

1. Branded Surveys

Several projects from Take Part in Research are only available in the UK. So, if you’re from Canada or the US, Branded Surveys is an excellent alternative.

The platform offers points in exchange for answering surveys. You can join daily polls and challenges to earn more points.

The surveys pay around $1 to $3, and you can cash out or convert your earnings to gift cards as soon as you reach $5 or 500 points.

Leger Opinion or LEO is another excellent alternative if you’re from Canada. This Canada-based market research company offers numerous paid opportunities to its members.

You also earn points for participating in studies, and you can convert your points to cash, AirMiles, or gift cards.

LEO also holds sitewide contests where you can win all sorts of prizes.

If you are from the UK, check out Angelfish Opinions. There’s a wide range of available studies, from in-home interviews to online surveys and usability testing.

Studies pay around £1 to £100 each, depending on their length and complexity. Group discussions typically pay £40 per hour, so it’s a great side hustle.

The Verdict

Take Part in Research is a superb money-making website, especially if you live in the UK. There are dozens of studies available, all paying above average.

You just have to be more patient with the platform since the screening process of a few studies is quite stringent, and it may take a while to receive the payment for participation.

Nonetheless, I still recommend the website to those who want to make extra cash online while staying home.

And be sure to sign up for the alternatives I mentioned above while trying your luck in Take Part in Research.
